ABOUT US
Meet Elizabeth Gage
I’m Elizabeth (Liz) Gage, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and the founder of Gage Holistic Psychiatry. With over 15 years in health care and public health with the past 7 years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I bring both depth and perspective to the care I provide. My practice is built on the belief that mental health care should be personalized, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each individual’s story.
I’m excited to offer telehealth psychiatric care across multiple states, making it possible to extend safe, holistic, and affirming mental health services to adults who deserve accessible support—wherever they live.
My Approach
I practice through the lens of functional medicine and integrative psychiatry. My focus is on uncovering the underlying factors that shape your mental health and creating a plan that supports both immediate relief and lasting change. I consider the whole picture of your health, not just symptoms. Together, we may explore:
Sleep, nutrition, and movement
Stress, resilience, and lifestyle patterns
Hormone-informed care during life stage and gender-related transitions
Routine labwork
Genetic testing (such as pharmacogenomics or MTHFR)
My approach is shaped by advanced training in functional medicine and integrative psychiatry. I completed a fellowship with Psychiatry Redefined, a nationally recognized program in functional and holistic mental health. I also trained under Dr. Arwen Podesta (New Orleans, LA), completing a two-year mentorship that deepened my expertise in blending evidence-based psychiatry with nutrition, lifestyle, and integrative strategies.
Treatment is always collaborative, with education and options so you feel empowered in your care.
Areas of Specialty
I most often work with adults navigating:
Anxiety, depression, and mood concerns
Stress and burnout
Life stage and gender transitions
LGBTQIA+ affirming psychiatric care
Integrative care for patients seeking more than “just medication”
How Care Works
Every patient begins with a comprehensive evaluation. From there, we create a plan that may include:
Non-controlled psychiatric medication management (when appropriate)
Lifestyle and wellness strategies
Optional lab or genetic testing
Collaboration with your therapist, primary care provider, or other supports
Note: I do not prescribe or taper controlled substances such as stimulants, benzodiazepines, or sleep medications.

Why I Do This Work
I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I believe mental health care should be inclusive, thoughtful, and rooted in the whole person—not just symptom management. My passion is helping patients feel truly heard, respected, and supported on their healing journey. Creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse adults is central to my mission.
